A military veteran in Georgia chases down a rape suspect and detains at gunpoint until the police arrive.  A story with a headline like that should be something any news media outlet would want to run.  A good guy with a gun in the right place at the right time captures a rapist the right way.  In reality, with the way mainstream media operates, the story wasn’t even a blip on the radar.

News stories like this seldom get the media coverage they deserve, especially by mainstream liberal media.  Why?  Because it doesn’t support their anti-gun agenda.  Instead, the same day this article ran, a shooting occurred at a birthday party in Colorado Springs that most major mainstream news outlets covered heavily.  Why?  Because it vilifies the gun, makes for juicy headlines, and is used to support their anti-gun message.

When there is an agenda

This selective news reporting raises questions of integrity, objectivity, neutrality, and just plain reporting of the facts.  And, it is especially true when it involves guns.  Mainstream media, which the majority align with Democrats, regularly supports the Democratic Party’s policies and agenda.  This bias news reporting manipulates the public’s perception and skews public opinion in the direction so desired.

In America today, the gun is under assault by the Democratic Party and its lackey mainstream media.  They use any means to vilify the gun and weaken the Second Amendment.  While conveniently ignoring incidents where a good guy with a gun saves the day.

The incident in Georgia had all the makings of a great story.  A hero sprang into action, ensuring the suspect didn’t get away with his crime.  The Washington Examiner first reported the story, followed by The Denver Gazette, who carried the original article.  That was it, just two news outlets that I could find, and neither made the story a significant headline. Not even local newspapers in Georgia carried the story with any significance.

Relating to Journalist Integrity, The Hill: Journalism dies in newsroom cultures where ‘fairness is overrated’

When mainstream media is politically biased or has an “agenda,” how can we trust the accuracy of the information conveyed?  The news media takes pride in the First Amendment, but at the same time, they are drunk with the power the First Amendment provides them.  This arrogance of power was never more prominent than during Donald Trump’s presidency, where a clash and clear bias was evident among certain mainstream media outlets.

Controversial Topics & Mainstream Media

Now, with gun control and the Second Amendment under attack, mainstream media is all over it.  And, this is a prime example of mainstream media’s manipulation of information and facts surrounding the gun issue in America.  It is not about reporting fairly or even openly about gun issues, as demonstrated by the incident in Georgia and other similar events that never made the light of day.  Rather a blatant manipulation of information bordering on lies and deception to get what they want, which amounts to cheating.

The question here is not so much about guns and the Second Amendment as it is about mainstream news media’s manipulation of information.  The gun debate in America is a prime example of information manipulation.  Our First Amendment and the Freedom of the Press are there to give voice to the people and to keep the people informed honestly, factually, and morally consistent.  Not to hide behind or used for political gain.  To do so perverts the very nature of freedom in America and the Constitution that protects those freedoms.  Don’t blindly believe; seek the truth and hold accountable those who chose to subvert the truth; that is the American way!
